Types of Conductor Support Systems

Your team works hard to complete complicated electrical wire maintenance projects in a timely fashion. To achieve peak efficiency, your fleet will need tools that safely move conductors out of the way and hold them in place while workers adjust poles and cross arms. Custom Truck One Source has various conductor support systems that will satisfy requirements in numerous settings. Browse our selection for the following products and more.

Clamp Sticks

A clamp stick is a pole with a locking grip at its end that you can use to grip and move live wires. Your crew can use clamp sticks to move conductors out of place while adjusting jumper wires. Clamp sticks are also useful for holding conductors while splicing multiples together.

Conductor Extension Arms

Conductor extension arms provide a support point for conductor wires during cross-arm maintenance. The extension arm attaches beneath the cross arm and extends outward. Clamps on the extension arm give the technician somewhere to place the conductor wires while working on the cross arm. Using a conductor extension arm will allow your crew to keep wires live during maintenance so end users still have power access.

Telescopic Disconnects

Telescopic disconnects are collapsible poles that allow ground-level workers to reach conductor wires, disconnect switches and replace cutout tubes. These poles feature universal ends compatible with numerous attachments. The universal end is insulated for staff safety while working with live conductor wires.

Temporary Conductor Support Bars

A temporary conductor support bar clamps onto an electrical pole or cross arm to provide a new holding point for conductor wires during maintenance routines. The bars hold the wires up for additional vertical clearance.

Temporary Cross Arms

A temporary cross arm will hold live conductor wires in place while workers swap out damaged cross arms or insulators on an electric line pole. These devices are easy to install and remove, allowing for the fastest cross bar replacement projects.

Temporary Dead End Arms

A temporary dead-end arm attaches to an existing dead-end arm to give workers space to replace conductor wires. The temporary arms reach further outward from the cross arm’s center point to spread the wires, ensuring the clearance workers need to service them safely and efficiently.
