What It Means for Municipal Buyers

Custom Truck One Source’s Sourcewell contract (091125-CUK, running through April 9, 2030) lets you buy aerial lifts, digger derricks, trailers, and more without issuing your own RFP, if you’re an eligible government, education, or nonprofit agency.

If you buy equipment for a city, county, or transit agency, you know how long a solicitation takes. You write the RFP, publish it, collect responses, score them, and get approvals, and only then can you order the truck you needed months ago.

In May of 2026, Custom Truck One Source was awarded a Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract. If your agency is eligible, you can now buy directly from Custom Truck through that contract without issuing your own solicitation. Here’s how this contract works, and how you can start purchasing.

What is Sourcewell?

Sourcewell is a self-funded government organization established in 1978. It runs a cooperative purchasing program that brings together more than 50,000 participating agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada. Sourcewell awards contracts through a competitive process, and you can use those contracts to buy what you need.

How does Sourcewell purchasing work?

Sourcewell handles the competitive solicitation process, so your agency does not have to. It publishes a competitive solicitation, evaluates the responses based on scoring criteria, and awards contracts to the most responsible and responsive suppliers. The awarded contracts are available for public review, including the RFP, proof of publication, proposal evaluation, and board resolutions on Sourcewell’s website.

After an award, if your agency is registered, you can buy from an awarded vendor based on the contract terms and negotiated pricing. One competitive process covers many buyers.

Sourcewell also reminds you that you are responsible for making sure a purchase meets federal, state, and local laws, and any funding requirements. Talk to your counsel or procurement office the way you would for any other purchase.

Who can buy through Sourcewell?

Sourcewell serves any state or local government, U.S. Military, education, and nonprofit organizations across the U.S. and Canada. There are no fees required to utilize the contract, no obligation to purchase, and no commitments. You will need to register with Sourcewell through an online application before gaining access to member benefits. This is important to Custom Truck because you, as a municipal transit authority, tribal nation, or state or local government, can benefit from our contract.

What is the Custom Truck One Source Sourcewell contract number?

The contract number is 091125-CUK. It runs through April 9, 2030. Refer to this number when submitting a quote request or a purchase order.

Why cooperative purchasing makes sense for municipal buyers

Time is the biggest reason. Skipping your own solicitation can move a purchase forward by weeks or months, which matters when equipment has a long lead time.

Utilizing Sourcewell can simplify the procurement process for your staff. Sourcewell has already conducted a competitive process, eliminating the need to repeat the process when purchasing equipment.

The solicitation record is public and provides a clear procurement record to support purchases and helps to address any questions from council members, stakeholders, or auditors. Sourcewell also awards contracts based on value, quality, and service standards, not only on the lowest bid.

Custom Truck is a lifecycle partner for your fleet needs, offering sales, parts, service, financing, and asset disposal. Consolidating vendors frees your team from juggling multiple contracts, invoices, and contacts.
